Alex Smith - Designer
Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture Design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh after attending ISU and The Art Institute of Chicago. She enjoys redesigning spaces to be more functional. Her artistic ability sets her apart by piecing colors and styles together creating functionally aesthetic transformations. She has an innate ability at determining home styles, learning your specific taste, and updating spaces to blend them together creating personalized solutions. In her free time, she rearranges our home to itch her creative brain. Her favorite store is Hobby Lobby where she started her work life. She is a proud mother who enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
Jordan Smith - Contractor
Jordan attended Indiana University where he studied business and non-profit management. From a young age he knew he wanted to own businesses and had an entrepreneurial spirit. Heightened work ethic and exceptional attention to detail allowed him to learn quickly in residential remodeling and he began independent contracting in 2018. Jordan enjoys the transformation process and enhancing it. He is continuously looking for the best practices and how to implement them. In his spare time Jordan enjoys planning business growth and building relationships. Jordan is a volunteer soccer coach, middle school leader at church, and a proud father who enjoys teaching and learning with his children.
Interior Smith
From the Beginning
Interior Smith was founded April 24th, 2019 by Jordan and Alex Smith. Jordan and Alex believed they could correct 2 very specific industry norms: scope creep, and lackluster communication. From inception, it became our priority to plan projects in detail to limit contingency budgets, unforeseen costs, and vague project plans. Every project is unique and requires personalized attention. To us, personalized attention means more upfront work ensuring your project is well planned, communication throughout the process that sets expectations and instills confidence, and an ease of mind knowing we are available and accountable to ensuring your project is thoughtfully curated and executed.
We started small, with a Ford Flex that Jordan could fit 4x8 sheets of subfloor into, our home garage, and dedication to growing into a recognizable brand. It didn't take long for the referrals to roll in - we were the new kids on the block and learning our value. Starting out small, we were very competitive with pricing and quickly started to win the budget projects, all the while maintaining craftmanship and client experience as our main focus.
A New Business Grows
From Late 2019 through 2022, we learned and adapted. Each year we rebranded. We were learning the markets and our offerings grew. We moved into an office and began transforming from the couple down the street to the business down the road. We logo'd our trucks, updated our equipment, we hired guys, and we took off. We never faltered from quality craftmanship, and always kept our promise to make it right whenever a mishap occurred. But we were learning. Learning how to price, how to grow, and best yet how to better serve you.
Rebranding
In 2023, we rebranded for the final time. After roughly four years of practicum we found our lane, and we are sticking to it. We have always had a very unique offering, a designer and a contractor as one. We just didn't know how to package or deliver it. Like all things, practice makes perfect; a clear understanding doesn't hurt either. Alex has always created client facing project packets, and Jordan has always provided exceptional process and results, for us the translates to what we are.
Your Remodeling Concierge
We are your remodeling concierge. Designer + Contractor in sync ensuring that your dream smoothly transitions from thoughts to paper to final reveal. We pride ourselves on creating an environment of trust and personability. At the initial consultation Alex begins to formulate a plan for your space using your home and your style (she is great at helping you find it), meanwhile Jordan is along side ensuring your home, and technical installation questions, are ready to receive the transformation of a lifetime. From that moment forward you know, you have Jordan and Alex to assist you through every step, and somehow the mountain you were staring at transforms into a guided tour through imagination into your completed space.
Future Ambitions
We believe you, and the market, deserve a Designer + Contractor in sync. We are developing infrastructure to multiply. Our hope is that one day we can service our clients with the same personable touch that you get with a married designer and contractor through a well developed franchised organization.
